Look at the ears on Hip Hop! There are actually
cacti that have ears like his, and ears like donkeys and mice, too!
Some are fuzzy, furry and prickly. They may look friendly but don't
pet them or you may be 'hippity hopping' around trying to get them
out of your finger.
The 'Bunny Ears' collection of cacti are from
the Opuntia family of cacti, which is the largest group of cacti,
usually with flat paddle-like stems, though some are cylindrical.
All opuntias flower and most have edible fruit; they are well know
for their distinctive shapes.
Grow in full sun to filtered sun, water thoroughly
and don't water again until the soil is fairly dry. Though some
are hardy below freezing, it is best to protect from frost.
