Jack just loves
Flapjacks, which are also known as Kalanchoe thyrsiflora. The wide,
flat, round leaves are green often with reddish edges. This reminds
Jack of flapjacks dipped in strawberry syrup. Yum!
'Flapjacks' like plenty of bright light or filtered
sun, and water them thoroughly until plenty of water runs out of
the bottom of the pot. Don't water again until the soil is dry down
about an inch inside the pot.
When flowering, the plant will stretch up to
2 feet tall. When finished, cut off the bloom's stem close to the
plant to encourage new plants to form at the base.
Protect from temperatures below 40° F.
